Timeless Craftsmanship, Modern Poise

Pax Woodworking & Cabinetry began as a hobby in a small Southern California apartment in 2012, during my first year of marriage. With some shop experience from high school and a lot of trial, error, and persistence, I taught myself the craft while working full-time as a teacher. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something more.

In 2019, I officially launched Pax Woodworking, and by April of 2020, I made the transition to running the business full-time.

I’ve always had a deep appreciation for furniture building—especially the complexity of joinery and fine detail. Over time, that passion evolved into cabinetry and built-ins, where precision and functionality are just as critical as design. Today, my work is a blend of both: cabinetry built with the mindset and craftsmanship of fine furniture. That philosophy is even reflected in the Pax logo—a combination of a table and a cabinet.

I handle every part of the process myself—from selecting materials to building, finishing, and installation. I don’t outsource key elements like doors or drawers unless it’s something outside my capacity. This hands-on approach allows me to maintain a high level of quality, consistency, and attention to detail in every project. Whether it’s a painted finish, a stain and poly, or a hard-wax oil finish, the goal is always the same: clean, precise work that holds up over time.

I enjoy the challenge that comes with custom work—solving problems, maximizing space, and creating pieces that are tailored to how people actually live in their homes. I regularly work with homeowners, interior designers, and contractors who are looking for thoughtful, high-quality custom solutions.

Outside the shop, I’ve been married to my wife and best friend for over 13 years, and we have two daughters who keep life full and busy. Woodworking is still something I genuinely enjoy—what started as a hobby never stopped feeling like one. When I’m not in the shop, I’m usually spending time with my family or following IndyCar racing.

If you’re looking for custom cabinetry or built-ins that combine craftsmanship, precision, and intentional design, I’d be glad to connect and talk through your project.
